The Clique

Right now I'm in the middle of a series called the clique. I'm only on the first book because I am waiting for the second one at the library. So far the books are pretty good. I would suggest this series to maybe, mostly teenagers and maybe around 10 year olds. There a somewhat easy read. If you have any book suggestions I would love to here them. I love a great book!

Changing The Blog

I've decided that I am going to change the blog. I'm still going to have a blog but it's going to be different. It's going to be about the books I read, what I think about them, and other book stuff... I've decided to do this because my mom didn't like the idea of me having a blog just about my life. I am still going to blog about important and interesting things in my life, but I hope you enjoy my new blog.

After I Read

As I think back to this story I realize that this could be a true story. I really like the chraracters. I would have to say my favorite character is Naomi. She really evolves over this story. Like a caterpillar changing into a beautiful buterfly. Like every book I read I wish it wouldn't end. I would recromend this book to anybody. Especialy kids from the ages of 9-13. This book has the lesson of being true to yourself and never doubting yourself. Well, this is the end of my Becoming Naomi Leon blog, but don't worry I'm going to continue this blog on just my daily life! Make sure you check it out. Thanks to all of my family and freinds that commented. I love you!

227- 246

I did it! I finished the book! Yay! This book definately had the ending I wanted it to. This book, for sure, made my top ten list. It was wonderful! Here's what happened in the last pages. First of all there was the court. This part was soo nerve wracking for me! The judge asked about a million questions but the one that stood out was the one she asked Naomi, " Do you want to stay with your mom?" This question was really hard for Naomi. She knew she didn't but she has always had trouble with speaking up. She did though! She told the judge everything that happened an in the end it all turned out well! Guess what happened? The judge said Naomi and Owen could stay with Gram! YAY! YAY! YAY! I'm really happy that Naomi got her happy ending. She didn't end up with her parents but she stayed the same. Except for she met her mom, and her dad, went to Mexico, and discovered herself. I guess that explains the title. Becoming Naomi Leon! What a wonderful book!

Pages 195-226

You will never guess what happened! Well, you might but............... She found her dad! Yay! I knew she would! Well, there's more than just that so I will tell you the whole thing. When Naomi was at the festival she kept a sharp eye out for her dad. Even though she had no clue what he looked like. Bernardo ended up getting 2nd place with his carving, and that is when it happened. There was her dad! Standing right there. But when he saw Gram, Naomi, And Owen standing there he ran away. Naomi chased after him but she couldn,t keep up. Her and I were soo upset!! It gets better though. When they were right at there front gate there he was, again. This time he didn,t run away though. He ran to the kids and hugged them. Aww! How sweet! Anyways, they had a wonderful reunion. Remember how I told you this would be the perfect happy almost ending? Well, that isn't entirely true. At the end of these pages Naomi, Gram, and Owen had to leave. They were supposed to go to court. Oh NO! I really want Naomi to stay in Mexico forever, and be with her dad. I hope she does!!!

P.S. I just wanted to tell you something. There are really cool chapter titles in this book. Here are a few. A Memory of Elephants, A Drey of Squirrels, and A Leap of Leopards. Cool, huh?

Pages 167- 194

These chapters are much more eventfull that the last two. I really like this book. In these chapters Gram and Flora found out about Naomi's calls when someone she called called back and said she was Santiago's aunt. This was really exciting news! When Naomi went to Santiago's aunts house she learned that she looked exactly alike her dad. The aunt said that Santiago usually came for his favorite celebration Las Posadas, and then stayed for the Radish carving festival. She told Gram that she would call when he arrived. Naomi waited and waited but no call came and she went to Las Posadas without her dad. Naomi was upset but she knew that her dad would still come for the carving festival. One night Naomi started decorating a branch with her carvings and when Bernardo and his friends saw it they knew exactly what they were going to carve in the festival. Naomi helped them carve and I stopped reading on the morning of the festival. I really hope her dad comes. It would be the perfect almost ending.

P.S. the picture is an example of the radishes they carve in the festival.

Pages 152-166

In the beginning of these chapters Naomi seems happy and hopeful, in the middle she seems worried, and in the end a little less hopeful than in the beggining. I will tell you what happened. In these pages Naomi and Gram are searching for Naomi's and Owen's dad, Santiago Zamora Leon. I can really tell that Naomi wants her dad more than anything else. I also can tell that Naomi really likes Mexico. The first place they search for a person who might know Santiago is the market, but they have know luck. This is the part where Naomi gets a little discouraged. Naomi was soo desperateto find her dad and she did the only thing she could think of. Look in the phone book. She knew Gram wouldn't approve and had Owen and Ruben ( Flora's son) help her and keep it secret. At this point I could tell she was a little more hopeful. I like these pages because they really show that Naomis not going to give up finding her dad. GOOD LUCK NAOMI!!!

Pages 137-151

Sorry it has been so long since I've posted. I've been busy! I guess you could say Naomi has been busy too. Since driving to Mexico Can take some time. This chapter isn't super eventful though. This is mainly what happens... they drive to Mexico, arrive in Mexico, go to Fabiola's sisters house (her sisters name is Flora), eat breakfeast, and "homeitize" Baby Beluga (that's their trailor). I think it would be cool to visit Mexico. I really hope that Naomi finds her dad. I would be so happy if she did!

Middle of the Book

Wow! I'm now at the middle of the book. So far I love this book and I really like bloging. I think that maybe I will start a regular blog just about my regular life. I'm really glad I'm reading this book because I thought it wouldn't be this good and that it would just be o.k. Turns out it is wonderful and I'm so glad my dad bought it for me. Thanks Daddy!!!

Pages 107-136

I'm Mad!
I think this post deserves extra big letters! This is the most suspensful, madening, and exciting chapter I have red so far. I read a lot and if I explain everything like i usually do than this post would be 10 pages long. I'll tell you the main parts. The main thing that first started it was that Skyla took Owen to an apointment (because he has a displaced body). She was really impatient and Naomi knew that she was drinking. When the doctors told Skyla that There was nothing they could do for Owen at the time she completely freaked. I could tell she was on the verge of being drunk. IT MAKES ME SOOOOO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When they got back to the trailor Gram was at Fabiola's house. The phone rang and it was Clive saying they were going to Las Vegas Saturday. It was Thursday. She toldNaomi to pack but Naomi said no. Then...... Skyla slapped her on the face!!!!!! IT IS SOOOOOO MADENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I officially hate Skyla!!!!! SOOO MUCH!!!!!! Well, Naomi and Owen escaped and ran to tell Gram. They hid in the shed and they heared Skla warening Gram that if Naomi wasn't packed and ready to leave on Saturday she was going to take them away forever. UGHH!!! When Naomi woke on Saturday morning She was on the road in her trailor on her way to Mexico to find her dad. See! Isn't that exciting! I really want to know what happens next. By the way......... I HATE SKYLA SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
